An Arcadia is a simple, durable aluminum-framed slider, and that simplicity is why they are so repairable. Aluminum and salt air are the Arcadia's weak point on the coast. On the Pinellas beach side, salt pits the aluminum track and corrodes the steel inside the old rollers, and blowing sand grinds the whole assembly - which is why so many of these decades-old doors seize up near the water. The fix is the same one that has kept them going for generations: clean and true the track, cap it in stainless so the wheels ride on a fresh hard surface, and set new rollers matched to the door.
